Product Speech Samples Here in the Communicative Medical Speech Laboratory we are able to customize your artificial larynx. We have provided you with audio samples of the Romet; the Servox with intra-oral adaptor, adjusted for a male voice at low-medium volume; a ToneAire II Pneumatic; and a Stoma Whistle. The Servox Digital can be tuned to a number of voices and also has a whisper mode, samples of which are also provided. The recordings were all done on devices which were at least two years old and had fully charged batteries (the ToneAire II Pneumatic does not use batteries). The recordings were taken in the CMI Speech Laboratory with the exception of the ToneAire II which was recorded in Sydney, Australia (with special thanks to John Chaloner). When ordering a SERVOX DIGITAL artificial larynx device from us please specify the name of the voice you wish on your setting. Devices without a name request will be set to Pat's voice. Whitney - Hello, my name is Whitney and I'm a 40- something female. I work out of my home doing transcription work. During the average week I sit behind a word processor listening to tapes and typing out words. I am good at what I do and I could not get by without my Servox. Arthur - My name is Arthur and I had my surgery 17 years ago. I can speak using esophageal speech but prefer my new Servox digital. It is loud and clear and people can understand me. I had my unit professionally tuned by Communicative Medical. I've even got a whisper mode when I want to softly say sweet nothings in my honey's ear. I am never without my trusty Servox. Angela - I do real good with my Servox. I work for the big W greeting customers at the door. People understand me real good. Sure it was an adjustment right after surgery but I am back in the saddle and riding life for all it has to offer. Pat - I'm Pat and I've been retired for three years. I am a volunteer anti-smoking speaker in the public schools. I also help school kids learn how to read at Madison Library. I can talk pretty well with my Servox. Justin (child) - I talk with my magic box (Servox). Mrs. Tatherhorn and my teachers help me. I've got lots of friends too. Whisper Mode - Rusty is talking to you in whisper mode. Whisper mode is a softer setting usually on the lower button. It is especially helpful when a softer voice is needed (Church, movies, libraries, bedroom, etc.) |
